Village House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is Hiring a Human Resources / Payroll Coordinator Near Newport, RI

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Business Office Manager, the HR/Payroll Coordinator is responsible for the administration and coordination of all Human Resource and Payroll functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment – post job openings and forward qualified applicants to hiring manager
  • Onboarding – perform background check and ensure all required paperwork is completed accurately
  • Maintain employee files
  • Maintain HR software for all employees
  • Track annual performance reviews
  • Benefits administration
  • - Enrolls employees in medical, dental, life, 401k and offer COBRA to employees separating from employment.
  • Process weekly payroll.
    • Track time and attendance. Compile hours from time clock
    • Monitor sick & vacation balances
    • Maintain employee deductions
  • Administration of Workers Comp and maintain OSHA log
  • Administration of FMLA
  • Provide various payroll and employee reports
  • Provide assistance to Full Charge Bookkeeper
  • Various other miscellaneous clerical duties as assigned

Qualifications and/or Experience:

  • Two to four years of related experience
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations in regards to employment
  • Must be organized and proactive
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skils
  • Must be able to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the team
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with Paychex Flex computerized payroll a plus
